Auction for Fenix

3rd annual contest for the most beautiful Painting for Fenix is here

Dear artists,
the contest for the most beautiful Painting for Fenix has begun. ParaCENTER Fenix has launched the third annual contest which will culminate in the Auction for Fenix, the proceeds from which will go towards the services provided to our clients after spinal cord injuries.

The works of art are reviewed in a two-stage appraisal process. First, the submitted paintings are judged by an expert committee consisting of artists, gallerists and fine art experts: Katherine Kastner (Hunt Kastner Galerie), Lucia Lettenmayerová (Collett Prague/Munich), Denisa Kujelová (Fait Gallery), František Kinský (Kinský Art Media) and Michal Horáček (Czech lyricist and producer). Next, the general public is invited to vote for their favorite work of art on Facebook. Six of the most successful artists (three from the youngest kids’ category, three from among the older participants) will be ceremoniously awarded their prizes at the benefit Auction for Fenix event at the Reduta Theater in the fall of 2022.

The selected finalists of the contest will be provided with an opportunity to showcase their paintings in exclusive venues. In 2021, the works of art were exhibited in the Reduta Theater and subsequently at the magnificent Renaissance palace that is the House of the Lords of Lipá, located at Brno’s central náměstí Svobody (Freedom Square). This year’s contest will culminate in the benefit Auction for Fenix which will take place in the Reduta Theater’s wonderful Mozart Ballroom.

Finding the most beautiful painting is not the only goal of the contest: it is also to help facilitate mutual inspiration and cross-pollination among young artists; and to foster in the kids an appreciation of art, our responsibility for the world and the power of good deeds. The donated paintings will remain part of ParaCENTER Fenix’s art collection, to be used in benefit exhibitions and auctions for charitable purposes. All the proceeds always go towards the services for Fenix’s clients. ParaCENTER Fenix has been providing services to people with spinal cord injuries in Brno and its surroundings for almost 18 years.
